Since 2008, the Department of Chinese Literature at National Taiwan University has offered the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Chinese Literature for International Students. The program provides an immersive learning environment that integrates language training, fundamental sinology courses, and everyday cultural experiences, helping students develop linguistic intuition and engage naturally with Chinese in daily life.
Over four years of study, students will be able to communicate fluently with native speakers, gain a deeper understanding of Chinese society and culture, and build a solid foundation for advanced academic research in the future.

Curriculum Highlights and Regulations
- The program requires four years of study and leads to the degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) upon graduation.
- According to the program regulations, after enrollment, students may apply for a minor or a double major, but transferring to other departments is not permitted.

Notes:
1.The minimum credit requirement for graduation is 128 credits: 12 credits in general required courses, 12 credits in general courses, 40 credits of required courses in our program, and at least 64 credits of elective courses.
2.The general required courses have 6 credits of Chinese and 6 credits for any other foreign language, and also 0 credits for the courses “Advanced English (1)” and “Advanced English (2)”.
3.Two "Service" courses are required but do not count for credits.
4.A minimum of 4 credits in gym classes is required, but these credits do not count toward the graduation requirement.
5.Of the 64 credits of the elective courses, at least 36 credits must be courses offered by our department.
6.Credits related to minors are not counted as the 128 credits above.
